ANOTHER STATE PURCHASE
HOTEL ARCADIA, WELLINGTON DATE OF TAKING OVER INDEFINITE I By Telegraph —Press Association! WELLINGTON, This Day. Arrangements have been completed for the purchase of the Hotel Arcadia, Wellington, by the Government Purchasing Department. The present owner of the property is a Temuka resident. The date of taking over the hotel remains indefinite. It has been made quite clear that the acquisition of the Hotel Arcadia does not mean its end as a place of lodging. The Department has secured the freehold as a step toward the ultimate development of the Stout street block for extensions by the departments and to consolidate Government property in that valuable mid-city area. There is no present intention of interfering with the hotel building. The price has not been revealed.
