SIR DAVID MASSON

(By Air Mail—From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON. 19th August. Half a century of life and work in Melbourne had not weakened the many links which the late Sir David Masson had with this country. His two sisters, Flora and Rosaline, maintained the literary tradition qf their father, the. famous Professor of English under whom Barrie sat in Edinburgh University and whom lie included in his “Edinburgh Eleven." But the next generation developed the scientific bent of Sir David. His son is Professor of Chemistry in Durham University. A nephew. Dr. J M. Gultand. is reader in Biochemistry in London University And a son-in-law. Professor Malinowski. holds (he Chair of Anthropology at tlie London School of Economics. Sir David occupied the Chemistry Chair in Melbourne for nearly fifty years.
