Mr K. C. Akers, assistant manager fer New Zealand Phoenix Assurance Co., Ltd., is on a visit to Nelson. i News from the University of Cambridge includes some awards of New Zealand interest. The Owst Prize was divided between Mr T. E Easterfield, son of Professor Easterfield, Wellington, and Mr R. A. Rankin. Mr Easterfield also was among the recipients of book prizes. He is a student at Clare College and his name appears among those who received the B.A. degree by proxy. Mr R. D. Sweet, who is taking medicine at Gonville and Caius, is among scholarship holders and has been awarded a Firstyear Exhibition. Tne degree of B.A - . by proxy was awarded to Mr J. C. Dear, of St John’s Collegp.

By a unanimous vote Messrs J. E. Henrys, who has been handicapper of the Marlborough Racing Club since 1891, and J. J. Corry, were elected life members of the club at the annual meeting last week.
