FARMERS’ TRADING CO. I United Pr. <* ABsocJatlon] AUCKLAND, 23rd Juno. At the unnual meeting of the Farmers’ Trading Company to-day, the chairman of directors, Mr A, A. Ross, said the turnover approximated £2,000,000. Gross profits were £405,875, and after allowing for depreciation and outgoing expenses, the net profit was £104,235. The directors recommended payment of a dividend of 7 per cent, on the ordinary shares. During the year shares to the value ot £179,649 were taken up, increasing the number of shareholders by 1200. Replying to a question, the chairman said that although they had disposed of their Queen street lease to Shillings, Ltd., there was nothing to prevent them opening a store in Queen street, or elsewhere, if it suited them to do so.
