TRAIL RIDERS OF THE ROCKIES

OTTAWA, 3rd May. 1 Reflecting all the glamour and colour of the Canadian West, the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies are attracting considerable attention this year among tourists and guests at the large hotels in the parks area in the Rockies. This widely-known organisation of horsemen and nature-lovers have been meeting for the past thirteen years. This year their trail will have as its destination Mount Assiniboin" he ’Matterhorn” of the Canadian West Starting from the nationally-known resort of Banff, the four-day ride will be through some of the most glorious parts of the mountain country. It will pass through range after range of mountains patched with snow, intersected by deep chasms or wooded valleys-and numerous clear mountain lakes.

The annual jaunt of the Trail Riders is always done with a definite itinerary and the riders travel with a horse-pack outfit, carrying tents, teepees and cooking equipment. Camp is set up each night and meals are served around a roaring camp fire. Members come from all parts of Canada, the United States and Europe to ‘ride trail” and enjoy to the full the beauty and grandeur of tnis scenic mountain area There are well over 2000 miles of trails in Canada’s national parks in the Rockies, leading to the less frequented, parts of these vacation areas and opening up to the adventurous and lovers of out-of-doors new lands of wonder and romance
