STOKE CLUB The return match with Redwood’s Valley Club was played on the Stoke course, when conditions were excellent and an enjoyable afternoon was spent. Redwood s won by 5 matches to 3. The results of the games were as follows (Redwood’s players mentioned first): —Wade and Origg lost to Vercoe and Thomason; Rogers and R. Newman lost to Chisnall and Langbein; Max and A. Newman beat Dee and Crouclier • Dodds and Stewart beat Yates and Black; Brown' and Fal. coner lost to Currie and Douglas; Cliallies and Robinson beat Morris and JVercoe; ■‘Tomlinson and Shirtclift beat Price and Thornton ; Blackmore and V . .Siiirtcliff beat Barton and Fair. Stoke again found tlie Redwood's handicaps too high. A match with Murchison will be played at Stokp on Saturday. Pairs will be played in the incrning and four balls in the afternoon. Play in the morning will commence at 9.30 and in the afternoon at 1.15. The following Stoke players will play m the morning:—Vercoe, Chisnall, Thomason. Dee, Choueher, Black, Laugbem, J. Vercoe, Morris, barton; and in the afternoon —Yates, ” Douglas, Currie, Thornton, Price, Fair, Fitts Brown, Brunt, Harris, Beeves. Players unable to be present are asked to communicate with the secretary.
