ALSEEDED PLAYERS WIN WITH EXCEPTION OF MENZEL [United Press Association—By Electric Teleg-aph—Copyright] (Received 22nd June, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON. 21st June In the first round of the Wimbledon championship singles Coombe (New Zealand) defeated Partridge 6-1, 6-2-10-8; Stedman (New Zealand) defeated A. Brown 6-1, 6-3. 6-3. Other winners included Wilde, Khosinkie, Shayes. All the seeded players with the exception of Menzel won their games. Detailed scores in the match in which Crawford defeated Menzel were: - 6-4, 7-9, 4-6. 6-3, 6-4.
