A Reed was appointed coach : of the Nelson representatives. The Marlborough Union advised that ; the Marlborough senior representative team would arrive in Nelson on Friday night with Mr F. D. Payne as manager. Mr A. Grigg was the Marlborough referee' appointed to the - match, and Mr H. Webster would be, i the local manager for the visiting NelJ son team. Arrangements had been • made for the Nelson junior team to stay at the Club Hotel, Blenheim. 1 - THEFTS FROM DRESSING SHEDS 3 1 Mr Merritt reported that an overcoat 1 had been stolen from the dressing shed . at the Park last Wednesday evening. In ! the coat was a gold watch which the 3 owner valued particularly, as it was a 3 present from his parents on the occaj sion of his 21st birthday. It was a sorry , state of affairs and, it had been going \ on for a long time. The owner hoped , that the watch could be returned even , if the coat was retained by whoever . was responsible. ' The president said it was very dis- | appointing to find that there were some . people who were not sports, and who ’ would steal things from the dressing sheds. The president said it was time the union provided some service to secure the effects of players and coaches while they are engaged on the field on training nights and on Saturdays.

REFEREES FOR SATURDAY The following referees were appointed for Saturday’s play:— Senior Nelson v. Marlborough, Park, 2.30 p.m., Mr A. Grigg, of Blenheim. Junior Marlborough v. Nelson, at Blenheim, Mr H. M. McGirr. Rival v. College, Vanguard street, 1.15 p.m., Rev. A. Fear. Thira Grade Opawa (Blenheim) v. Nelson, Park, 1.15 p.m., Mr Cook. Fourth Grade Motueka representatives v. Nelson representatives, Vanguard street, No. 2, 2 p.m., Mr Warren. FOURTH CLASS REPRESENTATIVES TEAM TO PLAY MOTUEKA The following fourth class representatives have been announced by Mr E. MacGregor to play Motueka representatives at Vanguard street, No. 2 ground at 2 p.m.:— Full back: Thomas (Rival). Three-quarters: Cameron (Wai.), Shirtliff (Wai.), Gray (Nelson). Five-eighths: King (Wai.), Hughes (Nelson).

MARLBOROUGH REPRESENTATIVES TEAM TO PLAY NELSON HOME-ANIJ-HOME MATCH ON SATURDAY The Marlborough Rugby Union has advised the Nelson Union that the following team has been selected to play Nelson next Saturday:— Full-back: N.
