PROGRESS IN THE WAIMEAS MAIN TRANSMISSION LINE CONCRETE POLES BEING DISTRIBUTED A start was made yesterday by the Waimea Electric Power Board to transport the new, up-to-date concrete trans- M mission line from Brightwater to Tahuna. • The present line of 2500 volts will be n replaced by a 11,000 volt line and is necessary before the Board can take over the Tahuna supply. The next work will be the line to be ' ~ in with the Brooklyn scheme. This will ' be an eight-mile line from Richmond to ( Mapua. When this work is completed Brook!yn can be called on to take the peak . , iv load. These are necessary works preparatory to important extensions and cheapening of the service in the Waimeas. as previously foreshadowed by J the Power Board.
