THE RT. HON. M. J. SAVAGE
DUE AT SOUTHAMPTON TO-DAY IMPERIAL CONFERENCE DISCUSSED [United Press Association—B.v Electrio Teleg ■aph Copy right 1 (Received 4th May, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, 3rd May. Interviewed aboard the Arawa, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage (Prime Minister of New Zealand), who will arrive at Southampton on 4th May, declared that in the substitution of right for might as the guiding principle of the nations lay the only real hope of peace and security. He believed firmly that the world would never have peace until the economic and political relations between the nations and the people were based to a greater extent on the principles of right and justice. Discussing the Imperial Conference, Mr Savage said New Zealand recognised that she played only a small part in the affairs of the Empire, but nevertheless she was imbued with a sense of responsibility in discussing the important subjects set down on the agenda. THE HON. W. NASH The Hon. W. Nash, New Zealand Finance Minister, will return by air from Russia to-night. He will go to Southampton with Mr W. J. Jordan, New Zealand High Commissioner, to meet Mr Savage. It is understood that Mr Nash is anxious to discuss with Mr Savage the recent press attacks on the New Zealand Government.
