THE NELSON TRAMPING CLUB
FIRST OFFICIAL TRAMP THIS SEASON During the week-end 15 members of the Nelson Tramping Club enjoyed their tirst official trip lor the new season. The unfavourable weather reports kept away several members, who did not wish to venture out if rain was probable. The members who did collect at the Reservoir thoroughly enjoyed the outing which was up to Third House and then down a bush clad spur to the, at present, very much discussed Roding River, on the bank of which, in brilliant sunshine, the party had lunch. Leaving the river a detour was made to a very beautiful waterfall, discovered by the club on an earlier expedition. The fall is of considerable height tumbling in cascades from one moss covered rock to another then into a clear deep pool.
The party reluctantly left the fall and proceeded up a ridge coming out, on Jenkins Hill, where the billy was again boiled, and then home through the clearing, where a wonderful sunset view over the Arthur Range held everyone’s attention.
