BROOK’S RETURN FLIGHT

Brook, who arrived at Cape Tom from England on Friday, reached here to-day on his flight home, He began an unexpectedly early attempt on the record owing | to the favourable weather conditions i prevailing. (Received 3rd May, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Ist May. 1 Brook landed at Broken Hill and later took ofl for Kisumu. PROGRESS OF BROADBENT BASRAH (Iraq), Ist May. H, F, Broadbent, on his attempt to set a record for a flight from Darwin to England, arrived at 6.20 p.m., local time, having left Karachi at 7.55 a.m. (Received 3rd May, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, 2nd May. Broadbent flew over Baghdad. RUMANIAN PRINCE ATTEMPT ON ENGLAND TO CAPE RECORD LONDON, Ist May. Prince Constantin Cantacezene, of Rumania, aged 27, flying a Caudron Renault machine with a top speed of 237 miles an hour, and a radius of 3700 miles, departed from Hatfield in an attempt on the England-Johannesburg and the England-Cape Town records. He plans to make only two stops, the flrst in the south Sahara and the next in Central Africa. He will sleep in brief snatches, using an automatic pilot. PARIS. 2nd May. The airwomen, Mme. Claire-Roman and Mile. Lucas Naudin, who took off from Le Bourget on 22nd April in a small monoplane in an attempt to set a new record to Pondichery, in French India, via Rome, Damacus, and Karachi, have arrived at Pondichery. The English airwoman Mrs Amy Mollison states that she will fly from Paris to New York in July in preparation for the Lindbergh trans-Atlantic race.
