WORLD’S GOLD
THREEQUARTERS HELD BY BRITAIN AND U.S.A. WARNING BY SIR GEORGE PAISH [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] NEW YORK, 29th April. Sir George Paish, Governor of the London School of Economics, in the course of an address said that Britain and the United States were holding threequarters of the world’s gold and were forcing the rest of the world to do without it. If they continued other nations would learn to get along without it and thus render gold worthless. He predicted a war for possession of South America unless the capital and credit markets were re-opened.
