Bclford, in Robert road, Chullora, was totally destroyed, together with its contents, during the height of a heavy thunderstorm that swept Sydney. The cottage, a small one, was completely smashed—after being turned over. Neither Mr Bclford, his wife, nor his two young children were in the house at the time. Mr Belford has been unemployed for about three years, and the loss of his home was a severe one. He erected a tin humpy on the land, and while neighbours cared for the children he and his wife lived in that. Shortly afterwards, however, Mr Belford was forced to enter Canterbury District Hospital, where he underwent a severe operation. He was discharged
