MORTGAGE ADJUSTMENT
PAYMENT OF INTEREST PENDING DETERMINATION OF APPLICATION [By Telegraph Press Association] AUCKLAND, This Day. "The Court will view unfavourably the action of any mortgagor who. pending determination of his application for an adjustment of his liability, refused or neglected to pay whatever-interest within the prescribed limits it was reasonably possible for him to provide.” This statement was contained in a circular letter from the Under-Secretarv for Justice, Mr B. L. Dallard. to the Law Societies of the Dominion. Complaint had been made that many mortgagors have taken advantage of the fact that they had made applications lor relief by refraining from paying interest. Mr Dallard’s statement makes it clear that this is not the intention of the legislation.
