Camparison between the figures for 10th April, 1937, and those for 11th April, 1936, shows a reduction of 15,570. The weekly report of the State Placement Service states that last week 812 men were placed in private employment, making a total of 2969 since Ist Apx’il. The total is made up of 963 permanent (exceeding three months) 1077 casual (up to one week) and 929 temporary (one week to three months).
