Ibo. M. L. Anderson. When the .Noble Grand opened the Lodge about, SO members were present, and a steady influx raised the total to over 80 members and visitors. All sick claims and a maternity claim were passed for payment. At 8 p.m. Bro. C. E .Hammond, Hist. G..W. entered the room, accompanied by the Hist. Secretary, Bio. Cooke, both being apph.'iided on taking their seats in the I.P.N.G.’s chair. The N.G. extended a welcome to the Hist. Officers and visitors, Bro. C. E. Hammond replying on behalf of the District, and Si*.ler Tangyc on behalf of the Loyal Howard Lodge. At, (his stage two new members were initiated, Bro. Curry acting as Conductor, assisted by Bro. Austin, the newly initiated members being accorded the honours of the Order.

Bro. 0. E. Hammond. D.G.M., installed Sister A. Russell in her new office as Vice-Grand, Bro. Hammond congratulating her on being elected to office and wishing her a liappv and successful term in the Chairs. After Sister Russell had been invested with the Regalia of her office, the Conductor, Bro. V. IT. Cooke, escorted her to the Vice Grand’s chair, Sister Russell being enthusiastically received on taking her seat.

Sister Russell thanked the Lodge for the confidence they had placed in her by electing her to office, .and assured members that she would strive to carry out ivr duties in an efficient manner.

The Social Committee presented the Lodge with a. new set of bowls and a mat, and were thanked for their magnificent gift, it being mentioned that members will in future he entertained at howls, ping-pong, cards, and dancing after Lodge closes each night. It was decided to run a- fortnightly dance commencing on Thursday, 29th April, the proceeds to he used for building up an entertainment fund for use w hen visiting cricket teams arc being entertained and also to assist when the Nelson team is visiting Wellington. Bro. A. Stewart, P.D.G.M., who will be attending the Biennial Conference shortly, told members that he intends paying a visit to Australia in the near future, and that lie will visit as many as possible of the Lodges during his holiday. Oil his rfcturn Bro. Stewart will no doubt be able to give an interesting talk t,o the Lodges on the Order in the Commonwealth.
