WAR VETERAN
COLLAPSE IN ANZAC PARADE AN “OLD CONTEMPTIBLE” [By Telegraph—Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An elderly man Thomas Senior, of Opawa collapsed yesterday and died almost immediately as he was taking part in the Anzac Day parade in the city. Mr Senior, who served with the “Old Contemptibles” in the Great War and who was a South African war veteran, had been receiving medical attention for some months. Yesterday, as the Anzac procession was passing through Victoria Square he was apparently taken ill. He fell out from the ranks and collapsed.
