LOCAL BODY AMALGAMATION
SUGGESTED FUSION OF FIVE COUNTIES IN TARANAKI [By Telegraph—Press Association] HAWERA, 22nd April. Hon. W. E. Parry addressed the district county councils this morning on the amalgamation of local bodies. He suggested a merger of five south Taranaki counties with possibly a sixth to form one controlling body. Nothing definite was reached and the scheme may be further discussed at a conference of the local bodies concerned.
