HITLER CONDEMNED
“MENACE TO THE WORLD” WILL STRIKE WHEN READY ANTI-NAZI MEETING AT NEW YORK (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 17th March, 8.20 a.m.) NEW YORK, 15th March. Speakers at an anti-Nazi meeting of 20,000 at Madison Square Garden at which Herr Hitler was condemned, included Mr John Lewis, General Hugh Johnson and Dr. Bohn. Mr Lewis said that industrial democracy was the best guarantee against Fascism. He asserted that Herr Hitler crushed the German Labour movement. General Johnson said that Mr La Guardia, Mayor of New York, was right in branding Hitler as a menace to the world, causing the crowd to stand and cheer. Dr. Bohn charged Hitler with planning to make wax’. As soon as the army was ready he would strike as the Kaiser struck, in the belief that Britain would stay out of the war. The British declaration proclaiming unity with her natural allies was essential to peace to-day. The meeting was sponsored by Jewish organisations.
