SIT-DOWN STRIKE
FORD PUTS OFF MANY WORKERS LACK OF MATERIAL (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) DETROIT, 19th December. Mr Henry Ford announced that he was putting off 10,000 men due to a shortage 'of brake drums from the Kelsey Wheel Company where tho sit-down strike has entered its fourth day. The United Automobile Workers’ Union stated that the number put off was nearer 20,000'. Lack of parts has, also curtailed the activities of the Ford assembly plant at Buffalo. A check-up showed that 22,(XX) workers were idle at the Buffalo plant due to lack of material resulting from tlie Detroit strikes.
