SALVAGE BY WARSHIPS
ADMIRALTY NOT ENTITLED TO REMUNERATION
CLAIM OF £II,OOO LOST

LONDON, 17th December.
The Court of Appeal decided that the Admiralty was not entitled to remuneration for salvage services rendered by warships. It will therefore lose £II,OOO, awarded in the Lower Court for five warships going to the rescue of the tanker Valverda, which caught fire during ,a voyage from Curacao to England in January, 1935.
