CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR ■ CONVERSATIONS . The Chief Postmaster Mr A. W. Wallace advises: — “As in the case of the last Christmas and New Year period, the public is again to have the opportunity of having overseas radio-telephone conversations at reduced rates. By arrangement between the Post Office Administrations of the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, the charges for radio-telephone calls are to be reduced as under between the 23rd December and 4th January inclusive:—
Calls to Australia: Charge for 3minute call, £1 10s; each additional minute, 10s; period applicable, 23rd December-4th January.
United Kingdom: Charge for 3 minute call, £4; each additional minute, £1 6s 8d; period applicable, 23rd De-cember-4th January . (excluding Christmas Day). Irish Free State: Same as to the United Kingdom plus the usual fullrate charges from London onwards;' period applicable, 23rd December-4th January (excluding Christmas Day). The reduced charges will not apply on Christmas Day to calls other than those to Australia. The usual Charges for three-minute conversations to. the United Kingdom and Australia are £5 2s and £2 5s respectively.” . /
