TASMAN-MARIRI ROAD
(To The Editor)
Sir,—l would like to bring before the attention of motorists and the Motueka Harbour Board the dangerous condition which at present exists on the Tasman-Mariri road. Tall, fescue grass thrives on both sides of most of this road and is at present overhanging the road to the extent of two or three feet on each side, making the already narrow road a good deal worse than usual. Why hasn t the member of the M.H.B. who resides on this road seen to it that this dangerous growth of grass was cut when it first appeared 4 to 6 weeks ago. With the additional traffic on the road during the holidays a bigger risk will be present than there is now surely something ought to be done. I very nearly ran down a kiddie on Wednesday afternoon while returning to Tasman from Motueka and feel it my job to bring this matter before the public ’ere someone is injured or killed—it will be too late to clear up the sides of the road then. —I am, etc., ROY D. TOTMAN. Tasman, 17th Dec.
