“SHOW BOAT” STAR
It is interesting to recall that Paul Robeson’s first English appearance was at Blackpool in 1922 in “The Voodoo,” and that he was cast with Mrs Patrick Campbell. His first London appearance war, in 1925, when he appeared as Brutus Jones in “The Emperor Jones.” To-day Mrs Patrick Campbell has practically retired from the screen, and Robeson is at ! the height of his fame, his singing of “Old Man River” in “Show Boat” being or.c of the highlights of this great picture.
