DISTRESSED AREAS BENEFIT
BRITAIN’S NEW NAVAL TONNAGE

LONDON, 16th December.
Sir Samuel Hoare, at an industrialists’ dinner, said that the new standard of naval tonnage being laid down by Britain exceeds 200,000 tons, five times greater than the new tonnage three years ago. It would chiefly benefit the distressed areas.
