THE NELSON BRANCH BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the JTelson Branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Waimea County Council office, when there Were present: Mesdames Harley, Rigg, Farmer, Fitz-Gerald, Biddle, Pownall, Hurrell, Cock, Davies, Parker, Lucas, McKee Wright, Misses Nevin, Rhodes, and the secretary (Mrs E. Hudson). Several apologies for absence were received. In the absence of the president, Miss Nevin was voted to the chair. Accounts amounting to £l4l were passed for payment. The secretary reported that the new Rest Room was being well patronised. The Nurse’s report was as follows: Number of cases on the books since the branch opened, 3567; new cases for month, 9; babies to the Plunket Rooms, 185; mother and adults to .'the Plunket Rooms, 215; older children, 43; visits paid to homes, 198; older children under supervision, 467; expectant mothers for the month, 1; on books, 17; number of cases under treatment, 817. Wakapuaka, Tahuna and Stoke have each been visited during the month. The general health of babies and older children is good. The new rooms are much appreciated by mothers and nurses. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs Knapp in her illness. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to tht chair and a tribute to the work of the secretary (Mrs Hudson), who had had a strenuous year’s work in connection with the building of the new rooms,’ in addition to her usual duties. The chairman wished members the compliments of the season.
