TRAFFIC SIGN REGULATIONS
COME INTO FORCE NEXT WEEK SIZE AND SHAPE (By Telegraph—PrSss Association) WELLINGTON, 17th December. The traffic sign, (speed limits) regulations which come into force on 21st December next, are issued under the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act to-night. They set out the size and shape of traffic signs and where and how they shall be erected; and also provide that such signg must be lighted at night by a properly placed erection of advertising signs is also covered in these regulations. CAMPING GROUNDS Camping ground regulations under the Health Act are also issued tonight, but they are suspended till applied by the Minister by notice in the “Gazette” to any part of New Zealand. It is provided that no camping ground must bo established until a license is applied for and obtained from the local authority, which shall impose such conditions as it thinks fit. A license may be refused if the local authority considers the area, position or condition of the land unsuitable, and a license may be revoked at any time if the local authority considers it desirable to do so. Samtary requirements are also provided in the regulations.
