OLD BOYS DEFEAT ATHLETICCENTURY TO W. DEE At Trafalgar Park Old Boys gained a four point win, defeating Athletic by 7 wickets and 29 runs on the first innings. Old Boys won the toss and sent in Athletic who were dismissed for 142 rune, the highest scorers being, Bray 29, Bryant 25, Winter 24, Thompson 18, Pike 30.
Bowling for Old Boys, Talbot took three wickets for 24 runs, Pyne one for 62, Lord six for 43, Lusty none for 7. Old Boys replied with three wickets down for 171 runs, the feature being a fine innings of 104 by W. Dee. Playing very steadily for some time Dec gradually got on top of the bowling and punished it severely, finaly throwing his wicket away in going for the runs. Green batted stubbornly for 21, and Johnston 16 and Lord lb, both not out, attacked the bowling.
