All the missions work—Home, Maori, Chinese, Indian and New Hebridean—of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church were consolidated under the control of the Rev. D. H. Mac Diarmid by resolution of the Assembly meeting in Christchurch on Tuesday, states a special message to “The Mail.” Mr Mac Diarmid, who is at present minister of Napier, did valuable educational, missionary and administrative work in the Sudan over many years. He is to travel in the East after. July next and to take full control at the end of 1938, when the present Director of Missions, the Rev'. George Budd, retires. Appreciative references were made to Mr Budd’s services over many years. The new director will be assisted by the Revs. J. N. McKenzie, of Oamaru, and J. G. Laughton, of Taupo, as assistantdirector and Maori Mission Superintendent respectively.

Mrs E. T. Menlove (Nelson), who has been visiting Britain, arrived in Lyttelton by the Ruahine this week, and is staying with her sister, Miss van Asch, in Christchurch.

The friends of Mrs A. Dando wil regret to hear of the serious illness 01 her son Athol, who is in the Palmerston North Hospital.

After an absence of several years Miss Ruth Hay, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Hay, of Vanguard street, has returned to Nelson. Miss Hay qualified as a nurse at the Nelson Hospital. She was first associated with the Church of Christ in their mission work in Rhodesia, and more recently with the Zambesi Industrial Mission in Nyassaland.
