The bulwark of the naval team was Lieutenant Vincent-Jones who contributed a fine innings of 90. His innings was a treat for the spectators, including, as it did, six sixes. Once a window in Rutherford house was imperilled when a mighty drive by the lieutenant hurled the ball against one of the steel intersections. For College, Ward and Thorp batted freely.
