COMMUNITY SINGING
COLLECTIONS AT DUNEDIN (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, 25th November. At the first meeting for the year of the Dunedin community singing committee this afternoon it was disclosed that the receipts for the 25 sessions this year totalled £919 13s 4d, an increase of £253 10s over the previous year’s amount. After all expenses were met, £6OO was handed to the Mayor’s, relief fund. An indication of the growing popularity of the “sings” is given by the collections for the six years "in which community singing has been held in Dunedin. In 1931, £74 was collected, in 1932 £164, 1933 £399, 1934 £6OO, 1935 £666, 1936 £919.
