; AUCKLAND BRANCH / Members of the Auckland branch of the Nelson Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association were entertained at the Truby King Karitane Hospital by the matron, Miss I. Hunt, who is herself a member of the association (reports the “Star”). The hospital was thrown open for the inspection of the guests, and much interest was aroused by the ideal conditions In which the babies and their mothers are tended. The airy mothers’ quarters, opening directly on to sloping lawns, were greatly admired. A fascinating practical demonstration was given by five of the nurses Rowing .iiie bathing and feeding of the babies, sjnd each nurse also spoke of the stages in the children’s growth, their handling, diet .and training. Afternoon tea was then served under the trees in the spacious grounds, gnd the president, Mrs Huddleston, thanked Miss Hunt for her invitation and the entertainment she <had afforded the branch.
