LAWN TENNIS
PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ TOURNEY COMMENCES ON SATURDAY The annual primary schools tennis tournament commences next Saturday morning at the Girls’ College Courts, Waimea road at 8.45 o’clock. The entries are restricted to the four best girls and the four best boys of the primary schools of the district. The entries are larger this year and the standard of tennis high. The public are invited to be present and should witness some very good tennis. The four semi-finalists in the singles will be given free entrance fee in the Nelson Provincial Tournament to' be held at the New Year. The winners of the singles events will hold the Badminton Club’s cups. The competitors are requested to be qt the courts early as there are over 80 sets to be got through. The schools taking part are: (Col) College, (S) Stoke, (W) Wakefield, (T) Tahunanui, (A.P.) Auckland Point, (C) Central, (H) Hope, (A.) Appleby.
