OPENING OF SEASON OLD BOYS AT TAPAWERA ANNUAL FRIENDLY MATCH Old Boys made their usual opening of season journey to Tapawera on Saturday, and had a most enjoyable game with the local side. Batting lirst they scored 158, and when failing light stopped play Tapawera had scored 128. An overcast sky caused play to cease earlier than expected, with the result that several Tapawera players could not get their innings in in the ordinary way. As usual a very enjoyable afternoon tea was provided. As some 280 runs were also scored in about 180 minutes, the day was most successful.
