TO REPLACE THE MATUA
(By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 19th September. Two steamers to replace the Matua, which met with a mishap in the Cook Islands on Wednesday are being dispatched by the Union Company. The Watchlin liner Port Whangarei leaves ! at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Tonga Land the company’s own steamer Wai--1 pahi arrived from Gisborne this morning and sails for Apia and Suva on Tuesday. Both return to Auckland with fruit. The Matua is due at Auckland on 27th September.
