DETERMINATION OF POLITICAL LEADERS RESULT OF GOODWILL MISSION (Special to Press Association) APIA, 30th June. Full details of the deliberations which took place on the previous day at Vaimoso between the Mau and the goodwill delegates of the New Zealand Government were given by the Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, before a large combined gathering of Samoans at Mulinuu to-day. The leaders of both political sections affirmed their determination to work together for a United Samoa. The Minister announced full restoration of cuts and salaries of the native and European officials as from Ist July, and agreed to the setting up of a committee of Samoans to confer with the administrative heads on all matters relating to finance and taxation. A promise was given that questions of public interest affecting administration of the mandate would be published locally from- time to time in the Samoan language. The Minister said that a scheme to develop and make available about two thousand acres of Crown lands for natives and Samoan-born citizens who required holdings was now under consideration.
The Samoans are responding splendidly to the spirit of-the goodwill mission and delegates are gratified with the results achieved since their arrival a week ago to-day.
