FRIESIAN ASSOCIATION

RECORD TEST ANNOUNCED (United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., 19th June. It was announced at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Friesian Association that a cow owned by Messrs Royds and Williams, of Five Rivers, Southland, had just completed a period of test with an average of 5.31, a record for the breed in New Zealand, if not the world. During the period of test the cow produced 11,0831 b of milk and 588.81 b of butterfat. The following officers were elected: President, Mr H. E. Johnson (Tokomaru); vice-presidents, Messrs D. J. McGowan (Auckland), J. Hart (Morrinsville); four members of the council, Messrs O. A. Cadwallader, H. E. Johnson, D. J. McGowan, and E. M. North; life member, Mr E. C. Banks (Tauranga). The council of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association met today at the National Dairy Show. It was reported that membership was now 120. The association’s cup was allocated to the Dannevirke Show. The finances were reported to be most satisfactory.
