CLIMAX TO LABOUR DISPUTE

OPEN GUN WARFARE STRIKERS IN OHIO .'United Press Association—By Eleotric Telegraph—Copy right) (Received 20th June, 9.0 a.m.) KENT (Ohio), 18th June. A two months’ labour dispute in a local tool factory over wages turned into open gun warfare between pickets and strike breakers, to-day, seven from each side being seriously wounded or gassed.

Strikers erected a barricade across a street from the factory and poured high-power rifle fire into the building, until forty beleaguered strike-break-ers begged permission to leave the building. This was finally granted when the sheriff succeeded in arranging a truce. The battle continued for hours, pickets refusing to permit doctors to enter the factory to treat dying men. It is expected that the National Guard, may be ordered out to handle the situation.
