IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
STRENGTHENING BRITAIN’S POSITION (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 20th June, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 19th June. It is reported in the lobbies that the 'Government’s plans for strengthening the position in the Mediterranean include maintaining the fleet at a higher level than before the Abyssinian dispute and a stronger garrison in Egypt. The Government may ultimately consider provision for further bases.
