NEARLY £2,000,000 SHORT
COMMONWEAI.TH INTERNAL LOAN (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 18th June, 9.0 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Commonwealth Internal Loan of £9,000,000 closed £1,800,000 short, the amount subscribed being £7,200,000. The underwriters will make good the shortage. The treasurer, the Hon R. G. Casey, stated that subscribers numbered 7650, and added that the failure to obtain the full amount was attributed to improvement i\ business conditions, more outside avenues being now available for the 'investment of capital than during the depression.
