“FINISHED WITH CARS”
CONVICTION FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. A taxi driver, Jarrett, was charged at Lower Hutt to-day with driving in a manner which was dangerous to the public. Jarrett was recently tried in the Supreme Court for negligent driving causing the death of two peqple and was acquitted. The police said that Jarrett was a married man with five children and was now on sustenance. He had suffered a good deal and had said that he was finished with motor cars. They did not think a monetary penalty would do much good. Accused was convicted and discharged.
