INJURY TO ALLISON UNLIKELY TO PLAY AT WIMBLEDON (Received 17th June, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, 16th June. W. L. Allison (U.S.A.) has dislocated a hip bone and is unlikely to play at Wimbledon. The injury is similar to Austin’s, whose hip bone was out of its socket. Austin has nearly recovered and expects to play at Wimbledon.
TIIE BRITISH TEAM TO BE TRAINED BY FOOTBALL TRAINER (Received 17th June, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, 16th June. Tom Whittaker, trainer of the Arsenal Football Club, has accepted an invitation to train the British Davis Cup representatives.
TO TOUR AUSTRALIA (Received 17th June, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, 16th June. The Lawn Tennis Association announces the acceptance of the Australian invitation to send an English women’s team in the winter of 193738.
