PLUNKET SOCIETY

THE MONTHLY MEETING At the monthly meeting of the Nelson Branch of the Piunket Society there were present; Mesdames Davies, Cock, Rigg, Knapp, Pownall,. S. A. Lucas, Miss Rhodes and the secretary. Apologies were received from Mrs Neale and Miss Mevin. In the absence of the president, Mrs Knapp (vice-president) was in the chair. Before the business of the meeting commenced a resolution of sympathy to Nurse Mason on the death of her father was passed in silence. Owing to the small attendance at the meeting, nominations for committee members for- the ensuing year were left until the next meeting. Accounts amounting to £57 16s Bcl were passed for payment. The Nurse’s report was as follows: Number of cases since branch opened, 3471; new cases for the month 20; number of babies to the Piunket Rooms, 204; number of mothers to the Piunket rooms, 250; older children, 56; visits to homes, 218; babies solely breast fed 127, on supplementary feeding 39. on humanised milk 8.9. Expectant mothers for the month 4. The Pain kef. rooms have been well attended this month, the total number of visits being 510. Tahung has been visited three times this month, Stoke twice, and Wakapuaka one visit. Of the new cases 12 are breastfed —six on supplementary feeding, and 2 on humanised milk. Number on books 113. Richmond was visited twice- during the month. All cases seen were well. Two new cases were taken. There were 17 visits of adults and babies to,the rooms, and 8 older children. One visit was paid to Wakefield, two new cases were taken, both breastfed. Visits to rooms numbered 8 adults and 8 babies, 3 older children. Dovedale commenced its monthly visit this month. Two visits were paid to homes and 7 adults to rooms and 4 babies, 1 older child. Murchison Was visited twiefe, one new case being taken. Visits to homes 10, visits to rooms, adults 17, babies 16, older children 2. All cases seen were well.
