A sensation was caused at Athens last month by the elopement and secret marriage of Princess Assa, the eldest sister of the King of Irak, to a hotel porter. She was secretly baptised in the rites of the Greek Orthodox Church in the name of Anastassia. Princess Assa, in a statement, said: “I will not have anything to do with my relatives. I love my husband.” The romance began at Rhodes two years ago.
