KWANGSI TROOPS
STILL MENACING HUNAN NATIONAL GOVERNMENT TROOPS ON THE MOVE (United Press Association— By Electric v Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 15th June, 9.5 a.m.) SHANGHAI, 14th June. , The National Government is still sending troops southwards in view of the doubtful attitude of the Kwangsi troops, who are repoi ted to be still menacing Hunan. Five Japanese warships arrived at Amoy and landed marines to protect Japanese property. They will proceed to Canton if necessary. THREAT OF AERIAL ATTACK HONG KONG, 13th June. The Kwangsi and Kwangtung troops are evacuating Hunan Province, after a skirmish' with General Chian Kai-shek’s defensive line, aggregating 150,000 men. Southerners are nervous of aerial attack on Canton, in view of the National Government concentrating 30 bombing aeroplanes within 250 miles of the town. ir{ .. ~ ANTI-JAPANESE DEMONSTRATION LONDON, 13th June. The Exchange Agency’s Hong Kong correspondent says 100,000 Chinese, soldiers and civilians, participated in an anti-Japanese demonstration in Canton, shouting slogans, “Down with Japanese Imperialism!” “Fight the Japanese!” Virulent anti-Japanese speeches were delivered.
