A complex series of depressions covers the Dominion, while an intense anti-cyclone is approaching across the Tasman Sea. The forecast is for light to moderate and variable winds, with northerlies prevailing at first, but a change to strong southerlies probable within 24 hours. Weather cloudy to overcast and at places rriisty or foggy, with intermittent rain, some heavy falls likely and on the ranges snow. Seas slight to moderate but later increasing.
