ROAD PROPOSAL
(To The Editor) Sir, —May I refer to the notice in your paper regarding Rabbit Island and the proposed road across to Nelson. I would like to say I wish the proposal every success for the sake of the young people of this district and surrounding districts. Not all of us are in the position to run cars, therefore our boys and girls are not able to get far these nights. If only the road could go through it would be possible for them to cycle into Nelson for the Y.M.C.A. or Technical classes, concerts, pictures, etc. Also it would have heaps of other advantages. This district would probably grow and during summer months picnic parties could get to Ruby Bay and other places for ideal outings which would all be to the advantage of Mapua and Tasman. Trusting my letter will come before the notice of those who will push this proposed road ahead. — I am etc. A MOTHER OF SONS. Mapua, 12th June.
