PROVISIONAL COMMITTEE MEETS The Provisional Committee of the recently formed association for the advancement of the city ancl district met last night and discussed at length the activities of the association and the proposals for the organisation. A further public meeting will be held in the course of the next two or three weeks when the plans of the association will be placed before the members and intending members for their approval and assistance. The question of a name for the orl ganisation was discussed and plans were made for a competition for the selection of a suitable name. This will be advertised in Saturday’s issue of the “Mail” and a prize will be offered for the best name submitted. The committee appreciates the offers of co-eperation and assistance that have come from various organisations and will endeavour to make use of them in the furtherance of. the interests of the city and district.
