The night was cold, with a frost of nearly three degrees in the city and over ten degrees at the Government Research Orchard. Bright sunshine prevailed to-day and there was no wind. The barometer had mounted to 30.39 from 29.9 yesterday and was rising during the day. Pressure was high over New Zealand this morning and fine weather prevailed. Lower temperatures were recorded.
